Etiquette
Make yourself aware of the rules
Be positive It is so important to encourage your team, usually the least experienced player is put in the most important position, lead, never criticize your teams bowling help them, they do not bowl a bad bowl on purpose, remember your last bad bowl? It wasn't that long ago
Keep quiet and do not move when players are bowling
Wait for your skip to tell you which shot you should play, keep up with play at all times.
Your only have 1 minute to bowl your bowl after your opponent's bowl has stopped.
When your teams bowl stops it's no longer your head or mat any more, move at least 6ft away from both you should not be there.
When it's your team's turn to bowl it's your mat and head your opponents should be away from both if they are not ask them nicely to move
Walk up the center of the rink with minimum delay, if it's not your team's turn to bowl DO NOT STOP AND CHAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RINK IT'S NOT YOUR MAT or HEAD
Never applaud lucky shots, never complain about lucky shots, and admit a lucky shot with good grace I know it's hard. Do not say thanks for a bad shot that go's your way
Compliment other player's good shots, if you can't find anything nice to say, keep quite
If an Umpire is called move away you're done, his/her decision is final
Every player at the mat end should help in collecting the bowls
Respect the green at all times, do not drop bowls, if it's crowded stand on the bank
Do not blame the green for your bad bowling, your bowls go where you bowl them.
Inform your opponent if you wish to leave the green
Be a good loser. Win or lose, be graceful to your team and your opponent's team
Thank all involved markers, umpires, green keepers and all those who have worked hard to arrange the day.
